a free-verse poem inspired by this great book
your eyes shine with a melancholic light
a sorrow that captivates and enthralls
in the depths of your gaze, i find delight
for you make this sadness seem bright
the way you carry your pain, with hidden grace
draws me in, like a moth to a flame
your vulnerability, i long to embrace
for in your sorrow, i find that sacred frame
the tears that fall from your delicate face
glisten like diamonds, sparkling and true
your heartbreak, a haunting, ethereal trace,
you make sadness seem so beautiful…
